Our second most popular tree throughout the decades, this spruce is famous for it's remarkable blue/white color and is one the of the preferred choices for Christmas trees. Grows in a variety of soils, but prefers moist soils, moderately shade tolerant. Mature height is 60-90'
Please note that Colorado Blue Spruces are susceptible to Needle Cast Disease, which causes mature Colorado Blue Spruces to lose their needles starting from the bottom and working its way to the top. The disease doesn't set in until 8-10 years or later, making them still an ideal choice for harvesting Christmas trees. There is currently no treatment for this fungal disease.
