Eastern Redbud, 2-0, 24-36"
Known as the harbinger of spring, Redbud's delicate purple blossoms are the first to bloom and signal the end of winter, with heart-shaped leaves that turn yellow in the fall. Easy to maintain, with a mature height around 20-30'. Prefers full sun to partial shade, tolerates a wide variety of soils, and is an excellent early pollination source for nectar-seeking insects in the spring.
