An old-time favortie variety for northern climates, produces large, high-quality fruit with excellent keeping quality. Tree is upright, vigorus, and winter hardy. Slow to begin bearing. Very similar to Northern Spy, except more hardy & disease resistant. As the saying goes: "Spys are for pies". Requires cross-pollination with another apple variety.
