February 2026 Adventures

Feb. 19: Visited Reese Middle School 7th grade students.
Feb. 20: Visited Reese Middle School 6th and 8th grade students.
Feb. 27: Visited Mayville Middle School 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
The class discussions and lessons centered around the 2026 National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) Poster Contest. The theme for this years contest is "Soil. Where it all Begins." Students learned about the characteristics of healthy soil, how farmers monitor soil quality, how to use conservation practices to enhance the quality of soil, and a game was played to check for understanding on soil health information. After the classroom visit, students were provided paper for making their own personal poster to enter the contest.

March 2026 Adventures
March 2: Trinity Lutheran School students in all grades.
March 5: Kingston Middle School 6th, 7th grade students.
March 19: St. Luke's Lutheran School 3rd grade students.
March 20: USA Elementary School 5th grade students.
March 26: Caro Middle School 8th grade students.
All above school visits were based on "Poster Contest" Lessons and poster entries by the students.
March 25: Cass City Middle/High School Science Fair Exhibit

April 2026 Adventures
Apr. 8: USA Elementary School 2nd grade students.
Apr. 9: McComb Elementary School Kdg, 1st and 2nd grade students.
Apr. 13: Cass City Middle School 6th and 7th grade students.
Apr. 15: USA Elementary School 1st grade students.
All above school visits were based on "Poster Contest" Lessons and poster entries by the students.
Apr. 16: Mayville Community Schools Kdg through 8th grade students. The students participated in an Earth Day Event. Students rotated through 6 different groups focused on different ways to keep our Earth Healthy. Groups topics were recycling, invasive species, habitats, ecosystems, native wildflowers, aquatic life and water health.
May 2026 Adventures
May 1: Reese Elementary School Kdg students learned about plant needs, plant parts and the plant life cycle.
May 18: St. Michael's Lutheran School 5th and 6th grade students learned about invasive species and helped remove plants from Richville Conservation Club property. They also learned about habitat health and how it is important to sustainable animal populations.
May 19: Home School group of all ages learned about the life cycle of a butterfly, the needs of a butterfly, habitat needs for butterflies with native wildflowers.
May 22: Mayville Middle School 6th and 7th grade students had a field trip experience where they learned about pond life, fish and macroinvertebrates, forest succession and forest health and food webs in an ecosystem.
May 27: Reese Middle School Outdoors Club helped remove invasive species at The Exchange Club Forest. They successfully removed 22 large garbage bags full of invasive Barberry plants!
May 29: USA Elementary School 5th grade students had a field trip experience where they learned about pond life, fish and macroinvertebrates, food webs in an ecosystem and how to shoot a BB Gun safely.



June 2026 Adventures

June 15 through 18: Day Camp at Richville Conservation Club. This event is the first time it was held. It was sponsored by the Richville Conservation Club, Pheasants Forever and Tuscola Conservation District. there were 12 participants, aged 10 and 11, participated in many fun activities during the week. Participants learned about habitats and the importance of them on sustainable animal populations. Learning about birds, mammals and fish offered participants opportunities to understand how conservation helps them survive. Practicing fishing and shooting sports safely helped participants learn how to practice skills for staying safe. Building a fort in the woods showed them survival skills. They went home with lots of cool stuff to remind them of the great time they had all week.
June 30: Home School Group with all ages as students learned about mammals, birds, and pond life for the morning.
